The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will host the "2026 Seoul Design Industry Spectrum" exhibition and the "2026 Green Chips Seoul Festival" at DDP from the 14th to the 25th, in collaboration with the Seoul Design Foundation.

The Spectrum exhibition, held at the DDP Design Dulle-gil, introduces the achievements of three Seoul Metropolitan Government support projects: developing industrial design for SMEs, opening market channels for sustainable design products and services, and revitalizing the design industry for accompanying the socially vulnerable. Along an exhibition path approximately 110m long, products, development processes, and designer interviews will be presented.

In the SME exhibition, 35 results of collaborations between SMEs and design companies will be unveiled. This includes 15 product designs and 20 service designs, including brand, user interface (UI), and user experience (UX), allowing visitors to observe the process of how corporate technologies and ideas are materialized into products and services.

Participating examples include the autonomous patrol robot from Dogu Gonggan, which collaborated with Noknok Company, and the "PARTS" interior-specialized thermostat developed by Apartmentary and 20plus. The exhibition will also introduce the development process through sketches, models, and videos.

The design exhibition for accompanying the socially vulnerable will showcase 8 products and services designed to improve inconveniences experienced by the socially vulnerable in daily life. Exhibited items include the "One-Handed Bottle Opening Station," which applies a fixing structure to allow opening a bottle with one hand, and the "Desktop Nail Clipper," which can be used by pressing a lever with the palm. These are cases where the form and operating methods of daily necessities were designed considering physical characteristics and usage environments.

In the sustainable design field, the products, materials, and manufacturing processes of 12 out of 20 selected companies will be introduced. Participants include "Pig Lab," which made cap openers and packaging cutters from rubber scraps and waste wood, and "Curve Seoul," which produced bags using recycled PET bottle materials.

At the DDP Eoullim Plaza, the Green Chips Seoul Festival will be held to experience sustainable design products and services. Twenty companies participating in the market channel development support project will participate in the event, showcasing daily necessities, stationery, fashion accessories, furniture, and more. By also introducing the materials and manufacturing processes used in the products, it will demonstrate how resource recycling leads to actual commercial goods.

On-site participation programs will also be operated. Visitors can use guidebooks to collect letters throughout the exhibition area to complete the word "eco-friendly," or collect stamps while viewing the DDP Design Dulle-gil exhibition. At the Play Store on the 1st floor of the DDP Design Lab, products from participating companies will be exhibited and sold.

Choi In-gyu, Seoul Metropolitan Government Design Policy Officer, said, "This exhibition is an opportunity to introduce the collaborative results of SMEs and designers, products that improve daily inconveniences, and designs that consider sustainability. We plan to share the design development processes and results with citizens."

The two events will operate daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM from October 14th to 25th, and admission is free.
