The Hanji Culture Foundation announced that it will host 《2026 Wonju Hanji Theme Park Paper Journey 4: Entanglement; Unfolding_From Hanji》 at the Wonju Hanji Theme Park Special Exhibition Hall 1 from the 21st to December 2nd.

This exhibition focuses on contemporary artists reinterpreting the traditional material Hanji through their own unique modes of expression. Four artists selected through an open call will present various works, ranging from paintings using Hanji as a base to spatial expressions using light.

Artist Shin Seon-mi will present painting works using Hanji as a base, while artist Jo Gyu-jin will introduce works that sculpturally express light by utilizing the permeability of Hanji. Artists Choi Hyeon-sil and MANNUCCI LETIZIA will showcase two-dimensional and sculptural works utilizing the physical properties of Hanji.

The exhibition demonstrates the process by which a single material expands into different forms depending on each artist's interpretation. Through the works, viewers can observe how the fibers, texture, color, and light permeability of Hanji are utilized in visual expression.

Kim Jin-hui, chairperson of the Hanji Culture Foundation, stated, “This is an opportunity to see how the perspectives and expressions of four different artists expand, starting from a single material called Hanji,” and added, “We will continue to hold exhibitions that highlight Hanji as a contemporary creative material and support the creative activities of artists.”

The exhibition runs from October 21st to December 2nd, and admission is free. Viewing hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and it is closed every Monday.
