The Hermann Hesse Watercolor Art Print Exhibition, featuring 40 watercolor art prints by the German author, will be held at Cafe Comma in Yeouido, Seoul.
The "Hermann Hesse Watercolor Art Print Exhibition" is being held at Cafe Comma in Yeouido from the 3rd until the 29th, featuring 40 art prints of the German writer's watercolor works.
An exhibition where the watercolor works left by German writer Hermann Hesse can be encountered in one place will be held in Yeouido, Seoul.
The "Hermann Hesse Watercolor Art Print Exhibition," hosted by Ars and Jenny, is being held from today (the 3rd) until the 29th on the second floor of Cafe Comma in Yeouido. This exhibition presents 40 of Hesse's watercolors in the form of art prints.
Hesse, who is well known to Korean readers for works such as "Demian" and "Siddhartha," established his own artistic world not only in literature but also in painting. In his later years, he particularly spent time observing nature and reflecting inwardly through painting. His watercolors capture natural landscapes and simple scenes of daily life.
This exhibition serves as an opportunity to look beyond the author's literary achievements and examine Hesse's perspective and inner self as revealed in his paintings. Visitors can see how his world of work—which explored Eastern thought and the spiritual world through a Western perspective—connects to communion with nature and peaceful everyday landscapes in his drawings.
The exhibition organizers stated, "We have prepared this exhibition so that visitors can experience the beauty of nature and the tranquility the author discovered in his paintings through Hesse's watercolors." They added, "It will be an opportunity to encounter another side of Hesse, who is familiar through his literary works, and to escape briefly from daily life to appreciate the pieces."
