The Jeonbuk Museum of Art announced that it will conduct the "Honam Tourism and Culture Week Art Tour" from October 1 to 30 in collaboration with the Tourism Industry Division of Jeonbuk State.

This tour will be operated a total of 9 times during the weekends throughout the month of October. Participants will tour major cultural and artistic spaces and tourist attractions in the Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Gwangju regions on a 2-day, 1-night itinerary.

The tour includes the Jeonbuk Museum of Art, Jeonju National Museum, Iksan Arts Center Art Museum, and Jeongeup Municipal Museum of Art. It will also visit cultural spaces in the Jeonnam and Gwangju areas, such as the Gwangju Biennale, Mokpo Nojeokbong Art Park Museum, and Hwasun Choi Sang-jun Art Museum.

Along with visiting art museums, the itinerary includes local historical and cultural spaces such as the Mireuksa Temple Site in Iksan, Museong Seowon in Jeongeup, and Jeonju Hanok Village. Participants will participate in the program by viewing special exhibitions at each museum and then touring local cultural heritage sites and tourist attractions.

A pansori performance will also be arranged for the nighttime schedule. With support from the Jeonbuk Branch of the Korea Tourism Organization, traditional performances have been linked to the museum visits and local stay itineraries.

This project is a program that expands the public museum cooperation network project "Bricolage: Gathered Art Museums," which has been conducted by the Jeonbuk Museum of Art, to the Honam region. Following the operation of an art tour that connected major art museums in Gwangju and Jeonbuk last November and December, the Jeonbuk Museum of Art has expanded its visiting range to Jeonnam this year.

An official from the Jeonbuk Museum of Art stated, "Based on the program that connected Gwangju and Jeonbuk art museums last year, we have expanded the scope to Jeonnam this year. Through this stay-type program that links museum visits with local tourism, we will operate it so that people can experience the cultural spaces of the Honam region together."
