An exhibition recording the ordinary daily life of an individual living in Seoul is set to open. Depsend Gallery will host "Daily Crop: My Tiny Pieces," the first solo exhibition by photographer MAY, from October 22 to 26.

This exhibition introduces the work of the artist, who operates under the name MAY, by capturing trivial moments encountered in daily life. Rather than focusing on special events or staged scenes, the collection centers on landscapes and moments where the artist's gaze happened to linger.

The works do not pursue perfect composition, color, or sharp image quality. Instead, the focus is on recording the perspectives the artist chose to keep exactly as they were. Through scenes that might be inadvertently passed by in daily life, the exhibition invites viewers to look into individual experiences and sensations.

The term "Crop" used in the exhibition title carries the dual meaning of cutting a portion of a photograph and harvesting crops. The artist compares the act of leaving photographic records of moments encountered each day to a small harvest gathered from daily life. It embodies the thought that even a day that seems unremarkable can remain a meaningful piece through documentation.

In her artist notes, MAY stated, "We all die someday. Life is futile, and because of that, it is special," adding, "'Daily Crop' began by recording how special an ordinary day is to me. I want to remember today as well that even boring and insignificant days—where all the problems of making a living exist—are a form of prayer."

The exhibition is free to view at Depsend Gallery. On the opening day, October 22, it will operate from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and from October 23 to 26, it will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
