The Pocheon 38 Small Art Museum will host the "Korea Contemporary Art" exhibition from October 21 to November 7, featuring paintings by 148 domestic artists. This 21st event of the "Art Museum Project" includes works from local resident artists Kwon Gwang-chil and Seo Si-hwan.
An exhibition introducing paintings by 148 domestic artists will be held in Pocheon. The Pocheon Culture and Tourism Foundation and Geum Bo-seong Art Center are hosting the collaborative exhibition "Korea Contemporary Art" at the Pocheon 38 Small Art Museum, located within the Pocheon 38 Culture and Arts Creation Center, from October 21 to November 7.
This exhibition marks the 21st event of the "Art Museum Project," which Geum Bo-seong Art Center has been conducting through regional tours. It brings together paintings from artists with diverse creative worlds into a single space to introduce the various expressions and trends of Korean contemporary art.
Kwon Gwang-chil and Seo Si-hwan, who were part of the first cohort of resident artists at the Pocheon 38 Culture and Arts Creation Center, are also participating. By showcasing works from both artists continuing their creative activities in the region and those active nationwide, the exhibition connects local creative sites with the domestic art scene.
The exhibition is significant in providing opportunities for local residents to encounter contemporary art within their daily lives and for artists to meet new audiences. It is organized so that the formative languages and working methods of various artists can be examined through the region's small exhibition space.
The exhibition was prepared as part of the "2026 Small Art Museum Establishment and Operation Support Project" hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Arts Council Korea. It is organized by the Pocheon Culture and Tourism Foundation and Geum Bo-seong Art Center, with support from the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, Korean Artists Association, The Yoon I&C, and Artists' Newspaper.
Viewing hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the museum is closed every Sunday. Admission is free. For further details, inquiries can be made to the Cultural Business Team of the Pocheon Culture and Tourism Foundation.
