King Jeongjo's Military Rites Encountered at Odaesan... Autumn Theme Exhibition at the National Museum of the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty
The National Museum of the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty is hosting the autumn theme exhibition "That Day, the Military Rites at Hwaseong: The King's Army Brought Back to Light" from October 8 to December 13. The event features historical records of King Jeongjo's military rites, digital immersive videos, and various cultural programs including music performances.
During the autumn foliage season at Odaesan, Uigwe (royal protocols) recording the military rites of the King Jeongjo era and digital videos will be presented. Along with the autumn theme exhibition, the National Museum of the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty is also preparing cultural events such as an outdoor library and music performances.
The National Museum of the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty announced that it will hold the autumn theme exhibition "That Day, the Military Rites at Hwaseong: The King's Army Brought Back to Light" in the special exhibition hall on the 2nd floor of the museum from October 8 to December 13.
This exhibition provides an opportunity to examine the military rites of the Joseon Dynasty through materials recording King Jeongjo's procession to Hwaseong and the military rites. The "Wonhaeng Eulmyo Jeongni Uigwe" records King Jeongjo's procession to Hwaseong, the military training at Seojangdae, and archery at Deukjungjeong in 1795, while the "Royal Protocols for the Construction of Hwaseong Fortress" contains the construction process of Hwaseong Fortress.
The digital immersive video "Immersive Uigwe Military Rites: Military Parade," produced by the Korea Heritage Agency, will also be screened. Based on the "Dongjangdae Siyeoldo" and "Yeongeodo" from the "Protocols of the Royal Procession," the royal procession, military training, and military signals have been recreated through video.
Along with the exhibition, the autumn cultural event "Autumn Love Annals" will be held on October 9 and 10. An outdoor library will be operated, and on the 9th, a performance by the band Wonder will take place at 1 PM and 3 PM.
An event will also be held for two days where visitors can receive a beverage on-site if they post a verification photo of their theme exhibition visit on social media. The educational program for families with children will be expanded to operate twice a day from October 9 to 11.
The museum operates from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and admission is free. It is closed every Monday. Detailed information can be found on the National Museum of the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty website or via telephone.
