Seoul Botanic Park announced that it is holding the autumn special plant exhibition "Pamfare, An Invitation from the Wind" in the Theme Garden from today (7th) until November 8.
This exhibition creates an autumn garden by arranging various types of silver grass, such as Pampas, and autumn flowers, centered around "Garden of the Wind" and "Gardener’s Garden." The exhibition title combines "Pampas" and "Fanfare," metaphorically expressing the sight of silver grass swaying in the wind as a celebratory performance.
In the Theme Garden, visitors can encounter five newly introduced varieties, including Pampas and pink hairgrass, alongside existing silver grass varieties. Additionally, 260 autumn flowers, such as Statice and Chamomile, have been planted to add color and texture to the plants.
Spaces have also been created where visitors can take photos against the backdrop of the autumn garden. Four photo zones are being operated, including a wedding arch decorated with Pampas, a small outdoor wedding venue, a romantic bridal waiting room, and "Pampas wings" for children.
In the "Forest Garden" of the Theme Garden, endangered plants are also being introduced for the first time. To allow citizens to observe them closely, 124 individuals of 11 endangered plant species, including *Smilacina chinensis*, *Saururus chinensis*, and *Saururus chinensis* (Seoul development herb), have been newly planted.
In the Rock Garden area, 457 plants of 16 species of coastal native plants, such as *Calystegia soldanella*, *Heracleum nyanghae*, and *Scaevola taccada*, have been newly brought in. This allows visitors to encounter native plants typically found on coasts and tidal flats within an urban garden.
According to Seoul Botanic Park, approximately 1,900 species of plants are planted in the Theme Garden, of which 104,000 individuals of 99 species of silver grass are being managed.
On Su-jin, director of Seoul Botanic Park, said, "This autumn, we are presenting not only silver grass and autumn flowers but also endangered plants and coastal native plants. We hope citizens will explore the garden and observe the value of various native plants."
