Architect Jang Yoon-gyu presents sculptural works that connect nature with the human interior. This exhibition unfolds thoughts on memory, relationships, and time through images of nature and space, such as trees, landscapes, mazes, and knots.

The solo exhibition 《Meditation: Human Landscape》 by Jang Yoon-gyu, representative of Unsangdong Architects Cooperation, will be held at Space Supernormal in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul, until November 1. As the third exhibition in the 'Human Landscape' series, it begins from the perspective of viewing the human interior as a single landscape.

The exhibition consists of four spaces: 'Room of Human Maze', 'Room of Human Tree', 'Room of Human Knot', and 'Room of Sun, Moon and Five Peaks and Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land'. As visitors pass through each space, they observe memory, emotion, human relationships, time, and dreams overlaid with images of nature and traditional landscapes.

'Room of Human Maze' interprets the maze as a space symbolizing the human interior where memory and emotion, choice and hesitation, intersect. In the 'Room of Human Tree', the roots, trunk, and branches of a tree are mapped to the times of past, present, and future, respectively, with human figures placed in between.

Major works such as 〈The Thousand-Year-Old Tree〉 and 〈Moon Tree〉 are introduced. 〈The Thousand-Year-Old Tree〉 compares a tree that has endured a long time to human existence, capturing both the landscape of nature and humans in a single frame by placing human figures between the trunk and branches.

〈Moon Tree〉 is a work that reinterprets the form of a moon jar by combining it with a tree. It expresses a meditative space through the appearance of a tree that changes according to the seasons.

'Room of Human Knot' focuses on human relationships. Experiences occurring between people, such as meetings and partings, love and memory, and wounds and forgiveness, are expressed in the form of intertwined knots. In this space, the 〈Papillon Chair〉, inspired by a chair personally made by Beopjeong, is also presented. It is a work that reconstructs a simple chair into the form of human figures.

In the final space, the human interior landscape is expanded through the traditional landscape paintings 〈Sun, Moon and Five Peaks〉 and 〈Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land〉. The sun and moon, mountains and water, and the space of utopia are reconstructed into images where human time and relationships, reality and memory, and the present and dreams intersect.

A commemorative concert will also be held at 5 PM on October 20, the exhibition period. Cellist Hong Eun-sun will perform Bach's unaccompanied cello works at the exhibition venue.
