The solo exhibition "There Are No Coincidences. Everything Is a Connection." by artist Kim Young-sun, who has expressed memories and peace of mind through the themes of the moon and jars, will be held at Gallery T on the second floor of the Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch from October 21 to November 10.

This exhibition introduces the painterly world of Kim Young-sun, which has developed around the moon and jars. Through familiar shapes and colors, the artist revisits longing for her hometown and childhood memories, allowing viewers to recall their own memories and emotions through the works.

Kim Young-sun has worked for a long time exploring the relationship between various subjects and colors. In her early stages, she expressed tension on the canvas by adjusting the density of color and changes in brushwork according to the subject, and subsequently narrowed the focus of her work to the moon and jars. The artist pays attention to the Oriental sentiment and soft forms possessed by these two subjects, seeking to convey warmth and stability through them.

In particular, the moon jar is a subject that concentrates the artist's formative interests. She transfers the shape and texture of ceramics into painting and adds color to express not only the external appearance of objects but also the emotions contained within them. Viewers can discover their own memories and impressions by following the familiar shapes and colors of the jars.

The artist's memories are also connected to the moment she harbored dreams of becoming a painter during her childhood. Her artist's note contains a scene of looking at a sunflower standing alone outside a wall in an alleyway under the hot sunlight on a summer day. The sensations that began from everyday landscapes have, through long-term work, led to paintings that express inner peace through the moon and jars.

The exhibition title shows the relationship where past experiences and present encounters are connected through the medium of the artwork. This signifies that childhood memories serve as the foundation for creation, and the experiences of viewers facing the works connect to new appreciations. The exhibition is composed as a space where the memories the artist has cherished meet the individual stories of the viewers.

Gallery T curator Yoo Hae-jong said, "The artist speaks of memory and peace of mind through the familiar subjects of the moon and jars," adding, "I hope viewers take time to slowly examine the colors and forms of the works and look back on their own memories."

The exhibition can be viewed at Gallery T on the second floor of the Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch until November 10.
