An exhibition will be held in Seoul where 100 contemporary posters produced in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland can be encountered. It is an opportunity to examine recent European graphic design works and printing/production methods through posters produced as original prints.

The 《100 Beste Plakate 25 D A CH in KR》 exhibition will be held from October 1 to November 1 at Doosung Paper Gallery in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

‘100 Beste Plakate Deutschland Österreich Schweiz’ is a poster competition that began in 2001, centered around Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Every year, the 100 selected works are produced as original prints and exhibited in various parts of Europe and Seoul.

In this exhibition, visitors can directly check the colors, paper textures, printing techniques, and actual sizes of the printed materials, which are difficult to confirm through digital images. Through the works selected each year, one can also observe how different designers and design studios utilize the medium of the poster.

The Korean exhibition is hosted by the type/graphic design studio Rohotype and Doosung Paper. Starting with ‘100 Beste Plakate 17’ in 2019, these two institutions have been introducing poster works from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to the country every year.

Marking the 9th Korean exhibition this year, they will also present the special exhibition ‘NEWSCHØØL of PØ5TER’, which commemorates the 60th anniversary of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw in collaboration with the Polish Graphic Design Foundation.

The special exhibition introduces the works of local designers, focusing on Polish graphic art, club posters, and independent projects. During the exhibition period, seminars and workshops featuring designers active in Poland are also scheduled to take place.

On the opening day, October 1, a visual performance by Grzegorz Laszuk, who works as a Polish graphic designer, musician, and art director, will be held.

The exhibition runs from October 1 to November 1 at Doosung Paper Gallery. Visiting hours are from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on weekdays, and from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekends.
