[On-site Sketch] An Artistic World Made of Hangeul Offers Only Answerless Freedom, 《Hangeul Creativity, Jiphyeonjeon》 Exhibition

The exhibition 《Hangeul Creativity, Jiphyeonjeon》, which highlights the formative beauty and creativity of Hangeul, is being held at the MG Hwaseong Saemaul Geumgo Woori-dongne MG Gallery until October 8.

Hwaseong, a city where tradition and the future grow together, is a dynamic city where new culture and creative values are created. This exhibition is an expansion of the formative beauty and creativity of our unique script, Hangeul, into modern art.

This space, where warm messages communicating across generations and cultures coexist, deeply explores the process by which the infinite imagination and artistic possibilities of Hangeul are reborn with modern sensibility, reviving traditional values.

Artist ZiBEZI combines the formativity of Hangeul with characters to tell stories about the relationship between nature, life, and existences. Known as the artist behind 'Dasong's drawings' in the movie 'Parasite', he reinterprets Hangeul as his own unique visual language, delivering a message through free lines and colorful hues that all life is interconnected.
 

ZiBEZI's characters are not mere repetitions of simple shapes, but are born as new living beings containing the artist's imagination and emotions. The free forms centered on curves, unique character expressions, and colorful colors add bright and positive energy to the works. The artist unravels various experiences encountered in daily life, such as landscapes, travel, and music, onto the canvas as his own stories.
 

Various lives that make up the surroundings, such as plants, trees, animals, birds, humans, the Earth, and the universe, appear in the works. He views these existences not as individual separate objects, but as a single relationship living in connection with one another. Based on the message that “no living being can live alone,” the artist intends to convey the meaning of connection and coexistence among life through his works.
 

This exhibition is expected to create a new cultural experience as the vitality and energy of change possessed by the city of Hwaseong meet the creative world of artist ZiBEZI.

An official from the exhibition stated, “Through the perspective of artist ZiBEZI, who has built the connection and coexistence of existences with free forms and colorful colors, we hope visitors will rediscover the beauty of Hangeul in their daily lives and feel a special artistic experience of positive energy.”
